Native Events created and produced the very first Emirates Festival Day for our partner, the Al-Maktoum Foundation. Emirates Festival Day (www.emiratesfestivalday.com) is a celebration of the strong links between the UAE and Scotland, based on the sister-city relationship between Dubai and Dundee, home of the Al-Maktoum Institute. The day was a major success with a range of events being attended by a local VIP audience and a range of senior people from the Universitiy of Abu Dhabi, Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University and the British University in Dubai.
Speeches about life in the UAE and business were made by the likes of His Excellency Mirza Al-Sayegh - Director of the office of HH Sheikh Hamden Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Principal Malory Nye from the Al-Maktoum Institute, visiting students, Navin Kapoor - a visiting scholar from the Al-Maktoum Institute and the former president of the Indian Business Council in Dubai and our own Iain Stirling commenting on the Middle East Business Club www.middleeastbusinessclub.com
The success of the day led to Principal Malory Nye commenting that " I am delighted to have the support of a number of organisations including the Dubai Government, Emirates Airlines, Mackays of Carnoustie, Highland Spring, Leisurecorp, the City of Dundee and the Native Agency".
